Singapore Prison Service Issues LaserMax
May 1, 2013 (Rochester, NY) – LaserMax® is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of their proprietary rail-mounted laser systems by the Singapore Prison Service. Completed in April 2013, the 80-unit sale of green Uni-Max lasers will greatly enhance prison staff’s ability to carry out prisoner transport and custody activities without incident.
“LaserMax has spent more than two decades developing tools designed to offer operators a tactical advantage,” explained Kurt Worden, LaserMax VP of Commercial Sales. “It comes as no surprise that the Singapore government has chosen to equip their professional team of uniformed officers with LaserMax laser sights. We applaud their selection and commit to provide the very best in service.”
Introduced by LaserMax in 2006, the Uni-Max is a patented laser system that brings simple functionality, durability and precision sighting performance to a large variety of firearm platforms. Weighing just one ounce, the matchbox size Uni-Max sight is ideal for use on medium and full-size pistols, carbines, rifles, shotguns and more. With only 1.75-inches of rail space required for mounting, the sight is compatible with virtually any firearm rail and offers its own built-in rail surface for the addition of other accessories, such as a tactical light.
Institutionalized as a department in 1946, the Singapore Prison Service is a federal agency of the Government of Singapore under the hierarchy of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Service operates 14 prisons and drug rehabilitation centers within Singapore which are responsible for the safe custody, rehabilitation and aftercare of criminal offenders.
