LaserMaxDefense (LMD) Wins Army Pistol Enhancer Contract
17 January 2019, Rochester, NY. The US Army has selected the LMD Pistol Enhancer for its M17 pistol. The LMD Pistol Enhancer features a near-infrared illuminator, a near-infrared laser, and a white light illuminator. The initial order is for more than 20,000 LMD Pistol Enhancers to be delivered in 2019. Sales to Army will be listed on GSA and available through FedMall and prime vendors. The Pistol Enhancer will also be available to other government customers (military and law enforcement). Customers will find it listed under part number LMD-PE-IR-1. (NSN Pending.)
The Army Pistol Enhancer program is called the Pistol Aiming Laser (PAiL). It will be delivered as part of a kit comprised of the M-17 pistol, the LMD Pistol Enhancer, and a holster. “After three years of hard work with input from subject matter experts, the US Army MCoE SA section, combined with extensive Army competitive testing, ensures that LMD will provide the Soldier with a great product” says Chris Gagliano (Sgt Maj USMC ret), Director of Military Products at LMD.
The highly visible LaserMaxDefense (LMD) Pistol enhancer is the smallest, lightest and most efficient white light/IR Illuminator/IR laser on the market. LaserMaxDefense (LMD) designed this new product to fit the US Military’s need for a rugged pistol enhancer capable of completing any mission assigned. The unit features ambidextrous activation in either momentary or continuous mode, and a three-position rotary switch to select white light, IR illuminator and IR laser, or full off. Battery changes are easily done without removing the unit from the weapon, thereby eliminating the need to re-zero windage and elevation.
