“I Believe the LaserMax Sight Was Instrumental…”
I was field testing the LaserMax Guide Rod Laser when I responded to a SWAT call for two barricaded gunmen in a multi-family dwelling. Once on scene, the team attempted to engage the suspects in conversation in an effort to secure their surrender. Both suspects refused to acknowledge the negotiators or respond. After repeated attempts, a tactical decision was made to deploy chemical munitions. I deployed chemical munitions into the dwelling and while visually clearing the basement I observed the two suspects attempting to hide behind some debris. The suspects were obviously affected by the chemical munitions but refused to respond to numerous verbal challenges to surrender. I activated my LaserMax sight and pointed the beam at one of the suspect’s chest area. After several seconds one of the suspects noticed the flashing red dot on his chest. He and the second suspect immediately put their hands in the air, stood up, and surrendered to arrest team members without incident. I am quite confident in saying that the LaserMax sight not only helped convince the suspects to surrender but also shortened an already protracted standoff with two armed suspects. I believe the LaserMax sight was instrumental in resolving a potentially dangerous situation without any injuries or loss of life. I would highly recommend LaserMax sighting systems for all Law enforcement personnel.
